Wheelchair mount for Resmed Lumis BiPAP machine and battery

This mounting system holds the BiPAP machine and battery on the wheelchair and can be easily removed for the purpose of transferring to the commode or bed without disconnecting from the BiPAP. The design is intended for use with a Resmed Lumis BiPAP machine with humidifier removed and endplate fitted, and Resmed Battery.

Steve thanks Brent Thompson for recommending this tool.

Description

I am an ALS sufferer, and fully dependent on a BiPAP machine. I needed a mounting system which would hold the BiPAP machine and battery on the wheelchair, and which could be easily removed for the purpose of transferring to my commode or bed without disconnecting from the BiPAP. This is my solution. The design is intended for use with a Resmed Lumis BiPAP machine with humidifier removed and endplate fitted, and Resmed Battery. I hope that someone else might find this design useful!

The mounting brackets which I’ve included are designed to meet the needs of my specific wheelchair, and have cut outs to fit around various brackets which were already in place. You may need to modify these. Cutting and folding from aluminium sheet is another option. Update: I have ended up designing a different mounting bracket for another wheelchair which had a large control box mounted just below the horizontal bar. These are designed to clamp onto the bar, and clear the control box. Mirror the file in cura to get the two opposite sides. I’ve also uploaded an adaptor for use with the smaller Medistrom Pilot 24 Lite power pack.

I have made this freely available for anyone who, like myself, is BiPAP dependent and wishes to remain mobile. However, if you find it useful and would like to support my work, please consider making a small donation here https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/DUPTEEM83T2RN
Any contributions will be greatly appreciated!
