Thank you! Walk to Defeat ALS 2026 Lexington

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, hundreds of people gathered at Legends Field in Lexington, Kentucky, to Walk to Defeat ALS. It was great to so many friends and supporters. We all got together to raise money for the ALS Association. The ALS Association does a lot good for the ALS community including advocacy, local ALS groups, equipment loans, and national programs like Creative Pursuits.

It great to see Stash (the Lexington Legends mascot), Miss Kentucky, and members of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity from Eastern Kentucky University come out to support us. This is the same fraternity that Lou Gehrig belonged to. I loved seeing so many young men come out to volunteer at the event.

Be sure to check out the slideshow below for some of our favorite pictures from the Walk.

I also wanted to say to huge thank you to Christine Duque from the ALS Association who led the effort to the event organized. Thanks to Gina Luster who has kept the Kentucky Chapter going through a myriad of changes this year.

Fundraising progress

Saturday was not just about the mile walk or roll in my case. We were also fundraising. We set a bodacious goal of $5000 this year. We didn’t quite make it, but there’s still time 😊.  Thanks so much for your generous support!

Current progress: $3181
