During my recovery earlier this year, I had a lot of painful moments that would bring me to tears. During those dark times, I would quote Psalm 23. I have never been good at memorization, but the Holy Spirit gave me what I needed in those moments.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down beside still waters. He restores my soul. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because you are with me.”
As you can see, I was misquoting it, but it was still what I needed in the moment. God is good! I’m so glad that He gives us what we need in our hour of need.
