Elgato microphone

Steve purchased the Wave:1 microphone early in his ALS progression when he could no longer put on or remove headsets and needed to keep his ears free. The microphone delivered strong audio quality at a reasonable price and met his work needs, including running meetings, webinars, and using Windows voice access and dictation, which required high clarity. Later, it proved invaluable when he began using a mask, as it didn’t interfere with his equipment and filtered out most NIV noise, allowing him to work longer than otherwise possible.

Description

I purchased the Wave:1 microphone early on in my ALS progression. I initially got because I couldn’t take off headsets anymore. I had a really great on-ear headset that I had used for years. When I couldn’t lift my arms anymore, I couldn’t put on or take them off anymore. I didn’t want to leave them on all day either. I wanted free ears!

This microphone solved that issue. It has really good quality and was priced reasonably. To be clear, I needed a good solution for work including running meetings and creating webinars. Furthermore, I used Voice Access, voice to text and voice control for Windows, which requires additional clarity. This mic was a great solution for all this.

Later in my progression, when I had to use a mask, this microphone was a godsend. It didn’t interfere with my mask, and it filtered out much of the NIV noise. It’s a big reason I was able to work as long as I did.

Wave:1 is no longer available. You can purchase the Wave:3 from Amazon.
