Description

We decided to replace the exterior door locks at our house when I could no longer hold or turn the key. I discussed options with a locksmith. I was leaning toward the smart locks that can be controlled with Alexa. He advised that he had concerns about the security risk of voice activated locks and recommended the push button from Schlage. We followed his advice.

While I had limited hand and finger function, I could use this setup. I think I would choose an electric bolt so I wouldn’t need to turn the lock.

One very nice feature is the ability to give temporary or specific codes to people as needed such as family and caregivers.

Here is the lock we chose.

Here is the lock I would choose today. I like the idea of a more integrated lock solution. It would have been a good match with our door openers.
