Bendy straws

When Steve couldn’t raise a glass any more, we started using bendy straws. Their flexibility of the straws were key to allowing him to drink easily.

Bendy straws went with us everywhere. Steve was to use them to drink everything even beer. He got some funny looks when Sheila would drop a hot pink bendy straw in his beer mug.

From walker to power chair

• Limited ventilation with an NIV
• Help needed to transfer

Power chair

• 50% to full time ventilation
• From NIV to tracheostomy

• Loss of limb function
• Most nutrition through feeding tube
