Description

After Steve’s bout of double pneumonia in early 2025, his pulmonologist prescribed an AffloVest to help clear his lungs of mucus. This vest uses vibration to loosen mucus in the smaller airways, so it can more easily be cleared from the larger airways. People without these respiratory issues typically do this by coughing.

We added this to Steve’s daily routine. We use it twice a day while he is in bed. One thing we do differently is placing the vest on Steve backwards. Rather than trying to get the vest on him correctly which requires rolling him or leaning him forward, we wrap the vest around him, so the back of the vest is on his chest.

Steve also enjoys using the vest. It is like a good massage vest.

This vest is only available by prescription. Check out their website for guides and more information about therapy.
